Well, I didn't get finished with everything I wanted to do for Valentine's day, but overall it turned out pretty good and I knocked out a few things on my resolutions' list.
I started this quilt last spring, and knew that I had to get it done for Valentine's day. I actually saw Helen Philip's Strawberry Hearts quilt on her blog and decided I had to have one for myself. I used fabric from Lecien's Flower Sugar collection, and some Tanya Whelan prints. After the quilting was done, I decided it still needed to have the red stitching around the hearts--it just didn't look as good without it.
I also originally wanted to bind it in white and do a blanket stitch in red thread around it, but it looked terrible, so I just left it white. I still might rip the binding off and add something from the Pam Kitty Love collection. It would be perfect for it, I think.
My daughter and her friend made some cute Valentine's cards for school, and I thought they were so sweet that I took my favorites and turned them into some bunting for the window.
I can't show you the whole window, because only one curtain panel is done!!!
Something that I made that wasn't originally on my list of things-to-do was this Valentine's tic-tac-toe quilted game board.
I love the Pam Kitty Love collection, and it was perfect for such a cute little project. I still have to finish the binding around the "board" but if I never get around to it I still think it's cute the way it is.
And besides, the kids don't seem to mind.
